I met Art Supple in 1969 and joined the Victors
in 1970. playing Piano, Trumpet and Vocals.
I had a wonderful time with Art, I learned
a lot from him, he is one of the most
professional entertainers I have ever met
to date, a true Showman.
We toured Ireland, England and Germany together
and I think we gave people a good idea
of what a good Irish Showband was all about.
In 1973 a jag pulled up to my door in Blanchardstown
and out stepped
Dermot Ryan(leader and sax player of Stage
2
from the passenger door, driving was Red Hurley.(Nevada
Showband)
Dermot had come to offer me a gig with Stage
2 playing trumpet and singing.
I told him I would have to talk to Art
and I would get back to him.
I don't think Art was too happy about me leaving
the band at the time,
but he saw the potential for me and
wished every success(thanks Art).
