The Show Band Show which began on Telefís Éireann in June 1963,
featured Ireland's top stars and tapped into the Show Band boom of the 1960s.
Broadcast in prime time, the show ran until June 1966, and was, in its latter years,
presented by John Keogh, lead singer of The Greenbeats.

On this Real Audio file John Keogh recalls the evolution of the series,
recounting stories from behind the scenes about the great show band stars
  They played in Liverpool's famous Cavern Club in 1964.
 

Peter Bardon began his career as bass-player with one of Ireland's
most impressive beat groups of the '60s,The Greenbeats.
After a successful spell in Irish showband and cabaret management in the '70s,
he opted to concentrate exclusively on music publishing,
