The Globetrotters Showband

Hughie Trainor
Hughie's original showband comprised Jim Bratten on drums,
Pat Conlon and Jim Devlin on trumpet, Jim Trainor and James Kane on violin.
Leo Trainor played saxophone and clarinet, John Warmoll, piano and accordion,
Jack Caldwell was accordionist while Hughie played tenor saxophone.
"The boys looked good in black tie and tuxedo.
We eventually built up our reputation in Britain and were welcomed by
top ballrooms in Glasgow, Birmingham, London and Coventry.
This justified our name change to 'The Globe Trotters"'.
Appearing with Paddy Cole, who starred as saxophonist in Hear My Song,
a film tribute to Joseph Locke, was a highlight of Hughie's career.

 Hughie Trainor (83 yrs old) passed away last week .
He led the Globetrotters Showband , Armagh.  R.I.P.
