The Plattermen stopped playing Country music and began playing  Blues

Rob Strong
became the Bands front man  and resident rocker.
Rob Strong started his career with the showbands and is perhaps destined
to be remembered as father of Andrew of Commitments fame,
(Andrew was the precocious singing star of The Commitments)
but Rob Strong is a force to be reckoned with in his own right

Simon Scott  (later Big Chief of The Apaches)
The other singer on the Band moved to the front when Rob left the Plattermen,

Jody Gallagher was the keyboard player with  Rock Stewart and the Plattermen.
Since he started song writing two years ago he has found great success having written
Conal Gallen’s smash ‘I want to be a Millionaire’.
Jody says “It’s nice to have success with a serious song this time round!”
