The Navak Showband was based in Cavan and
the name was derived from spelling Cavan backwards.
Brendan Hutchinson  former lead singer with the Navac Showband.died in May 2003
Brendan was a brother of the late legendary Tyrone country singer
Shay Hutchinson of the Melody Aces,
who together with the Clipper Carlton were regarded by many as the true
pioneers of the showband era. Brendan had an Irish Top 20 hit in 1969 with
“The Lightning Express”. Another one of his popular recordings was
‘Bringing Mary Home.”
